Update, 10/19/2012- I was able to fix the wheel rather easily, I had to drill a small hole through the axle near the end, I placed the wheel back on, and then placed a stainless steel washer over the axle and then a stainless steel cotter pin through the hole I had drilled to hold the wheel on. This was not as tough to do as I thought and is probably how these wheels should have been installed in the first place.
I added a star to my original review because after a few years now it is in near new condition. So there are very strong.

The metal clip that holds the wheels on has broken off of my 1 year 10 month old Recycle can. Blue Brute can.
The rest of the can is great, takes a beating. I live in Queens, NYC and the NY Sanitation are NOT gentle on the cans. Recycle comes once a week, unless holiday or snow storm happens.
Come home once day and here is my can with one wheel off, I look and see the metal clip is gone. Look around street and cant find it. So now I am left to try and figure out how to fix this.
Can cost me over hundred dollars from an Orange Box store we all know.

RubberMaid needs to look at the wheels, it current method of holding them on is not good.
