Product Description

The loop design of this mid century-inspired side table not only creates a shelf but also makes a stylish statement alongside your sofa, a living room chair or even next to a bed as a night stand. A bent plywood tabletop is made of a birch core with basswood veneer and wenge (dark brown) stain so deep that it appears black in most lighting conditions. Because the wood grain of the basswood veneer is uneven, the stain does not appear to be a uniform shade of brown. This retro end table requires minor assembly and is made in China. Like other cheap products, I'd like to complain about how terrible and confusing the instructions were, except this item doesn't come with instructions at all.

It's not hard to put together, the legs only go on one way and the entire thing had 5 pieces. Pretty self explanatory, but come on it should have something don't you think?

Product quality is mixed. Legs and crossbars are thick and sturdy. However, the table top portion is of low quality. It isn't smooth like you would expect, but has unevenness near two of the corners. It's hard to describe, it's a 2" by 1" rectangle near the corner that's indented and bumpy. Obviously a blemish or dent in the manufacturing process that was then painted over. The table top durability is also suspect and I don't expect it to last very long under normal wear and tear conditions.

Well you get what you pay for.

UPDATE: I decided to update this review because, after nearly a year, the table top is holding up fine. It doesn't get heavy use, but for the use it does get I'm surprised how well it's holding up. No dings or scratches and it looks as good as the day I bought it (including the blemishes). I upgraded it to 3 stars from 2, but I actually wanted to just give it just another 1/2 star for a 2.5.
