Use & Care:
The Garden Composter is shipped unassembled. Snap-together assembly requires no tools.
Remove the drum from its shipping position. Snap the cradle into the drum bearings (big end first). Install the shaft and handle. Put 4" bearing end in place. Secure the drum in place by installing the drum cap. Put optional rollers in place.

I have owned one of these Garden Gourmet composters for 4-5 years.
Like all of these plastic composters, it is important to make sure you put it on a level spot. I have moved since I bought this and i was able to move it fairly easily. I was able to split it in two haoves, and then reassemble without going through the entire assembly process. I had it on dirt the first time. Now I have it on a concrete slab that happened to be the right size and location. Hopefully the concrete won't prevent the good bugs and worms from finding there way inside at the new location.
I bought this because I needed a second composter. This one is bigger than the first which works out well. Every so often I take the material from the bottom of this one and run it through my shredder and put it in the smaller composter. It then ripens very quickly and can be used, That way I can continually add material to the garden gourmet without worrying about raw materials getting mixed into the finished compost.
The one advantage to my older compost is that it is easier to still in a round bin versus a square one. One feature I really like on this one is the door is big enough to shovel through which was not the case of the other one. Since I use it as a pre-composter I don't worry too much about stirring since I know it will ripen up once a grind and transfer it to the smaller bin.
I don't use the little doors on the lid. It is easier to lift the whole lid off.
I am very happy with this and it was about half the price of anything similar when I bought it.
