I have been on the hunt for a bathrobe that is absorbent, made with egyptian cotton and not too heavy. I saw this robe (Christy Renaissance) at bloomingdales' website and the price was over $100 and made in England. Did a bit of research and found this robe on amazon (the only one at the time) and also read that christy quality has been declining over the years. I took a gamble and got this robe for around $68, which is a significant discount from bloomingdales and a few other online retailers. I inspected the robe on delivery and it's not made in England; it is made in Turkey. The cotton has slight ribbing that gives it texture and it's not heavy at all. The S/M size is quite large (I am a size 8 women's) and there is ample room for me to tie the robe. Although at 5'2", the robe is tad long. This robe competes with the likes of the Hotel Collection and Restoration Hardware - it's a great alternative to these brands at a discount. The parchment colour is almost like the photo although not as yellow (like old parchment writing paper).
