I use to have an antique suit valet that was lost in a move. I wanted to get something that may be worth more in the future. So when I found this solid mahogany valet, I thought it might be worth the investment. I'm not sure if it's solid mahogany as the box and instructions did not seem to indicate it. The product was really easy to construct. The instructions are not elaborate, but it's not necessary. It was a little difficult to drive some of the screws in tightly, but not impossible. I purchased this for my husband as I'm tired of seeing his work clothes piled on the floor. It works to keep his clothes off the floor! He uses it. It's a nice decorative piece as well. The wood is solid. I just don't know if the mahogany is referring to the color of wood or the type of wood.
